Public Education and Social Media Intern

The Center for World Religions, Diplomacy, and Conflict Resolution (CRDC) seeks a public education and social media intern for a two- to six-month period in 2020. The intern will work exclusively with CRDC director Dr. Marc Gopin on videos, podcasts, transcripts, blogs, and book excerpts. A minimum commitment of 5 hours per week is required for this internship. In addition to weekly assignments and ongoing projects, the intern will also have the opportunity to work one-on-one with Dr. Gopin in career counseling and coaching sessions.

Communications Intern

CRDC seeks a communications intern for the duration of the academic year (other terms considered). The intern will be responsible for much of the center’s communications and social media strategy, including FacebookTwitter, Constant Contact, and website management, in addition to other assigned tasks. The successful candidate will have experience in communications work or social media, demonstrated knowledge of and presence on Twitter and Facebook, and a background in research and social science, international relations, or conflict resolution.

Marketing and Outreach Intern

CRDC seeks a marketing and outreach intern for a six-month period through December 2020. The intern will be responsible for marketing CRDC’s overseas seminars and recruiting students from graduate programs in the DC region and beyond.

Compensation for this position will be in the form of program fee credit for either CRDC’s January class in Israel/Palestine or CRDC’s March class in Jordan. The amount of the credit will depend on the intern’s success in marketing the courses and recruiting students. It is anticipated that the credit will be at least $1,500 and as much as the full program fee of $3,890.

The intern should be a student at a DC-area university who is eligible to participate in a GMU/CRDC course overseas and willing to work a minimum of 10 hours per week during the internship period.
