Bruce Elliott Busman has worked in the construction trade industry for 52 years as an engineer and builder. His construction career included serving as the Director of Facilities for INOVA Health Systems, a custom home builder, project manager, and estimator. Mr. Busman served in the United States Army as a combat medic for two years and for three years in the Army Reserves. His volunteer work includes board membership at the Northern Virginia Jewish Community Center from 2004 to 2007 and board membership at Bethesda Jewish Congregation (BJC) for 14 years (2004 to 2018). During this time Mr. Busman held the positions of President and Vice President for BJC. He was the board chairperson of the Bethesda Jewish Congregation (BJC)/Bradley Hills Presbyterian Church (BHPC) Inter-Congregational Partnership Committee and currently serves on The Refugee Committee for BJC and BHPC. Mr. Busman also is on the Cuban American Jewish Mission (CAJM) board. Other volunteer activities include board membership in The Middle East Peace Working Group (2010 to 2014) and The Global Campaign for Middle East Peace (2009 to 2010). He attended Adirondack Community College, New York University, and George Mason University and completed degrees in psychology and English, along with extensive coursework in civil engineering.
